Glossop MRT is currently looking for prospective members. If you're a fit, competent hill walker with night navigation skills and have the time and energy to commit to help saving lives in the Dark Peak, why not consider joining your local Mountain Rescue Team?
The team will be holding some open days later this year, so look out for details of those on this news page, in the local press and on High Peak radio. If you just can't wait, this site contains information about what we do and notes about how to join. For further information or to arrange to come and have a chat just contact us. - Congratulations to Scot Adams!

- 2007 was GMRT's GOLDEN jubilee year! GMRT (and its forerunners) have been operational from Glossop since 1957 providing the High Peak with a Mountain Rescue service. Our New HQ opened for operations on Friday 6th July 2007 and was followed by a Family and Friends day on Saturday 7th July where the HQ was dedicated to the people of Glossop and the High Peak for their kind support over the last 50 years.
- Thank you to John Mettrick's butchers of Glossop and Tesco for providing the food and drink for our HQ opening events.
